We’d like to thank everyone who took part in this year’s staff surveys. We appreciate your feedback, both constructive and complimentary. The opinion of our crew has always influenced how we choose to move forwards, and rather than sharing pie charts and endless statistics this time around, we wanted to share some of the more candid and interesting feedback received this year (anonymously, of course!)
On the new website:
“Yes, I quite like the new website and found everything I needed to easily”
“Good website – easy to navigate”
“Website was informative and easy to navigate”
“All the info I need seems to be there”
On any issues with pre-event information:
“Last year you used to have what3word locations on pack which made finding the correct entrance point much easier as this can be a real stress. You haven’t provided that so much this year”
and…
“No, I’ve not had any issues, though, if possible, it would be good to know in advance what sort of meals are provided. Eg catering team, meal vouchers, packed lunch etc”
We appreciate both points above and where possible, will be implementing both more.
On describing your communication with the office team, you said:
“Whenever I have phoned the office, my questions have always been answered promptly”
“Fantastic always done with politeness and professionalism as well as within a good time frame if waiting for response.”
“I am very happy with Kirsty Lindsay and Aidan and their communications”
On what your Team Leader of Manager could do to improve your experience:
“Nothing else was needed, we had a free meal and access to snacks and coffee at the hub”
On the facilities onsite:
“Catering at events is much appreciated be it a packed lunch, meal voucher or a team leaders’ meal. Having a DC tent with a kettle and a fridge is a bonus.”
“Reasonable, but better than some other companies”
“This varies with different team leaders although this year I have been fed well at every event”
“Simple and filling”
On staff briefings:
“Yes, very good briefing all information provided”
“All briefings were good, Suffolk show, S&C Colchester and Leeds”
“Briefings at all the events I attended. Those being Epsom, Windsor, Silverstone, Hatfield, Big Fest, Taste, Autumn gardener’s world and 4 Sausage & Ciders”
On communication between DC and staff onsite and being treated with respect and dignity:
“Happy with the communication from management, also from fellow work mates, which I think is as important as.”
“Yes. Excellent relationship with all.”
“Yes. Perfect.”
“I had a great time and hope to do it again next year”
“I’ve always been treated with respect and decency at any event I’ve worked at. And even if I wasn’t, I’m confident that it would be sorted.”
On working with other Event & Festival Contractors, and how this compares to your experience with DC Site Services:
“I have worked for xxx and xxx, and whilst I’ll still do some work for these companies, DC is my preferred choice to work for.”
“We do, but minimum 90% with DC”
“I quit working for xxx because DC are way better. DC are much better organised and are much more accepting / welcoming”
And our favourite question, what is your fondest memory of working with DC Site Services:
“Amusing sleep deprived conversations with other members of staff”
“My fondest memories are, meeting some wonderful people who I now call friends and getting to catch up with them all over the festival season. I also enjoy getting to know members of the public at the events and it’s nice when you get to see the same faces at events the following years and being recognised makes me happy.”
“As always, the people. One thing that always makes me smile sitting in the back of Dylan’s pick up on a battered leather sofa with a few others being driven around Beat Herder.”
We also lied, we want to share two statistics which made our day and that includes that 100% of you said you would recommend a friend to work with DC Site Services, and 95.2% of you would return to work with us next year (the remaining 4.8% of you being a maybe!)
