With the launch of the new event calendar around the corner (23rd Feb!) we wanted to remind crew members that all DCSS PAAM profiles are pre-approved before any positions for the summer ahead are assigned. To give yourself the best chance of securing a spot at your chosen festival, make sure your profile is complete. Take five minutes to log in and check the following:
Is your photo current (would our onsite managers recognise you?)
Is your phone number up to date? This is essential not just to the admin team but to your future Job Lead who may be chasing up your ETA or needs to give you a last minute alternative meeting point while you’re enroute.
Are the account details listed still the appropriate details to receive payment into?
Is your tax declaration still correct? This determines how much you are taxed, if this is wrong and you are overtaxed, you would have to take this up with the tax man directly, there is nothing we can do AFTER you’ve been paid.
And arguably the most important detail… your entitlement to work in the UK documents. Are these all uploaded and in date? If you’re unsure of what to upload, visit our FAQs here.
Please note that if your profile is up to date and you make your applications the second they open up, this does not guarantee that you will be assigned first. It simply means you’ve done everything you can to improve your chances. As with any other employer in any other industry, we do not assign positions on a first come first served basis. We assign our teams strategically and in a way in which supports the manager onsite, and which puts us in the best possible position to complete the job at hand.
Though we would love to give everyone the opportunity to join us, we have to consider how best to deliver our services successfully and this may mean ensuring that the team in question has an appropriate mix of experienced crew and new, regardless of when those applications were received. Some people also have different strengths. Those who are great with directing cars to park may not be best suited to bulking large amounts of litter. If there’s no camping, we may have to prioritise those who are local to the event etc. The needs of the job is the priority.
We do also however understand that recruitment is a revolving door, eventually everyone moves on so we recognise the value in bringing in and training new people, and in giving everyone a fair shot, but we also have to maintain a reputation for delivering a service effectively and on time which our more experienced crew are a dab hand at doing. We appreciate that this is not always obvious to those applying for the first time, but rest assured it is our objective to make sure that all new crew have the opportunity to become regular team members (should they wish to!)
If you have any questions regarding the above, whether it’s about how to complete your profile or when to expect to hear back about your applications, please don’t hesitate to contact our admin team who are happy to help.
We look forward to seeing faces both familiar and new very soon.
