DC Site Services is proud to be supporting the 2013 Hazards Off (HAZOFF) on festival and event sites campaign!

The HAZOFF campaign is working to stop the common policy of site vehicles turning their hazard lights on when driving on event sites.

The idea behind the campaign is that vehicles driving around on event sites with their hazard lights on is counterproductive and potentially dangerous. With hazards flashing vehicles cannot indicate to advise other vehicles and pedestrians in which direction they will be heading next. Site vehicles also often forget to then cancel their hazards when leaving the event site and driving on public highways.

We will be briefing all of our event staff in 2013 that they should not be driving onsite with their hazards flashing and that if they see a vehicle doing so it should be advised to stop!

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to you and your team for all the work you and the team put into helping make the traffic and transport operation work so well this year.

As it was a pleasure having DC site services as part of our team. I think the GFEL team of contractors is the envy of a lot of events in the way we all support each other and it was noted by some observers that stated the following :-

"simply put, GFEL’s off-site traffic management plan was delivered and managed in a totally consistent and defensible manner that sought to promote good practice, collaboration and road safety to the benefit of all road users."

The DC are big part of that delivery and should take some of the credit for that delivery.
