Event Litter, Recycling and Waste Management at the 2013 Royal Welsh Show

DC Site Services is pleased to announce that we have been selected for a three year event litter, recycling and waste management contract for the Royal Welsh show (2013 to 2015).

Following DC Site Services' success at the 2012 Royal Welsh Show, Matt Hettle from DC Site Services and Peter Kent from Grundon Waste Management have been working in partnership to put together the three year Royal Welsh Show litter, recycling and waste management proposal:

"We are delighted to have secured this deal as this will enable us to progress each year with improved recycling rates as we can adapt the service to the changing needs of the event\" Matt Hettle

"It's wonderful to be involved with this prestigious event and DC Site Services\" Peter Kent

DC Site Services' Sustainability Co-ordinator Harriet Jessup-Neary has been appointed as Project Manager for the three year Royal Welsh Show contract to ensure continuity to the event:

"I'm very excited about this role, it's great to see all the animals and different activities, I really enjoyed the challenge in 2012 and look forward to the next three years\" Harriet Jessup-Neary

We are pleased to be recruiting event staff for the Royal Welsh Show via DCSS PAAM in our normal way, however we are particularly keen to recruit from the local area. We will be releasing a local recruitment opportunity through the job centre and other similar agencies in April 2013.

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to you and your team for all the work you and the team put into helping make the traffic and transport operation work so well this year.

As it was a pleasure having DC site services as part of our team. I think the GFEL team of contractors is the envy of a lot of events in the way we all support each other and it was noted by some observers that stated the following :-

"simply put, GFEL’s off-site traffic management plan was delivered and managed in a totally consistent and defensible manner that sought to promote good practice, collaboration and road safety to the benefit of all road users."

The DC are big part of that delivery and should take some of the credit for that delivery.
