Latitude CATs in Artist Camping

We need a few extra CAT volunteers for the artist area at Latitude Festival. As the artist team is a last minute addition we’ll be leaving the application open until we’ve filled the extra spots. If you’re interested in joining us at Latitude please apply via PAAM ASAP.

Latitude Festival Shuttle Bus

There will be a shuttle bus service running regularly from Halesworth Station to Yellow Gate on Wednesday 16th July between the hours of 2pm and 8pm. If you wish to take advantage of this service, the cost will be £2 per passenger.

Well done to all DCSS staff who worked at Glastonbury 2008! DC Site Services management and Festival Republic were very impressed with all on-site teams and to top it off DCSS even got a mention on Radio 1! As far as Jo Whiley is concerned the DCSS stewards were the happiest and most informed at Glastonbury 2008!

Latitude Festival Shuttle Bus

Festival Republic is currently discussing the feasibility of organising a shuttle bus for those travelling to Latitude Festival via public transport.

Halesworth station is only a 15 minute bus ride from the festival site whereas Ipswich is and hour and a half, although there are less connections to Halesworth.

If there is enough interest a shuttle bus can be organised – there will be a small fee of £2 per person for the bus.

Timeframe: 2pm>4pm OR 4pm > 6pm OR 6pm > 8pm

Glastonbury Festival updates

Latitude Festival Deadline

Due to the additional volunteer requirements for Latitude Festival the PNC deadline for all applicants has been extended until the 1st July. We will not able to offer positions to anyone past the 1st July so please login to PAAM to apply and pay your deposit before the 1st if you would like to work at Latitude Festival.

Latitude Festival CAT Volunteers

We were about to close the Latitude Festival application but Latitude has just asked for another 25 CAT volunteers! If you’re interested in working at Latitude Festival please apply via PAAM ASAP.

For those who have applied and paid deposits please login to PAAM to view the information about the event. Once logged in the information can be viewed by clicking the links titled “>> info about this event”; to the far right of the festival’s name on your overview page.

If you haven’t yet confirmed your position please do so ASAP. This can be achieved via the “confirm this position” link next to the event name on your PAAM overview page.

Additional info will be sent out to all confirmed Latitude Festival volunteers by way of the CAT Pack in July.

Latitude Reading and Leeds Festival Deadlines

The deadlines are fast approaching for the Latitude Reading and Leeds Festivals. Due to all staff and volunteers needing to be PNC checked all those wishing to work must have applied and paid a deposit by the deadlines below:

Latitude Festival: 15th June
Reading Festival: 18th July
Leeds Festival: 6th August

If you are planning on working at Latitude, Reading, or Leeds please apply and pay your deposit ASAP to avoid disappointment.

You can apply and pay your deposit via PAAM – deposits can be paid via cheque, BACS, or credit/debit card.

Reading Festival volunteering award

At the 2008 Reading Festival all CAT and HAT volunteers aged 18-25 years will have the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised award. Please find more info about vinvolved below, we'll also provide further info within your CAT and HAT info packs which you’ll receive 1-4 weeks prior to the event, and at the on-site volunteer briefings.

Festival Republic - Clean Crew Camps

This issue of Festival Republic's Greening Festivals newsletter looks at ways staff, crews and stewards can reduce their environmental impact in travelling to Latitude, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and at their Crew Camps onsite. It also discusses plans to make all the timber onsite Forest Stewardship Council certified. Greening the Festival Republic Way

Festival Republic, producers of Latitude, Reading and Leeds Festivals works hard to minimise the environmental impacts of their festivals. Last year successful campaigns included the tent recovery program with more than 10 000 items recovered and redistributed at Reading & Leeds; more than 90% of all paper beer cups were collected through the 10p deposit/refund program and recycled at Reading & Leeds; and an innovative re-usable beer cup was used at Latitude Festival saving tonnes of waste. This year Festival Republic has produced a newsletter specifically for crew and stewards. Please read it here to catch up with what will be happening onsite this year that may concern you.

Radio 1's Big Weekend

We require 7 staff for Radio 1’s Big Weekend, the show is in Maidstone – Kent, on the 10^thand 11^th May.

The staff need to be onsite for 9am on each day.
