DCSS 2002 Christmas Newsletter
22 Dec 02Dick's so busy with events in London he hasn't had the chance to send out this year's Christmas Newsletter, so has asked me to pop something on the website.
Now what does Dick usually go on about in this letter then - I'll have a quick look at last years...
Well it seems my next words should be 'it was a great year', it truly was & I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as I did. Memories, hmm...not as many as I'm sure I should have but I'll give it a go!
Glastonbury - this was the first for me & it was a great way start to the summer...hey Kev! Memories of pointless gate - 7 was it - how many staff does it take to look after a locked gate...14 apparently?! Mr Scruff was as ever fantastic, Kosheen again top notch...whatever did happen to Faithless?
Going by the photos Womad seems to be next. Where to start, well not on a projection tower! Nuff said about that! Dave & I saved a baby from choking if that makes up for my complete stupidity?! Talking stupidity who was it that radioed about a stolen thirty foot wooden eagle - oh yeah - me again then - I've decided writing the news letter sucks!
Next up the Big Chills (yes both of them!), they were great although the second defiantly stole it for me, the views, the peace, just generally pleasant - though never accept a drink from Annie hey Seth!
Reading - well done to all, both Festival Republic & Specialised were very impressed with our handling of the bomb scare. I think what stole it for Midland was when on his break one of our Stewards found the extinguisher we'd lost the night before & put out a fire with it - well done that man!
Leeds - well I wasn't there but I've heard the stories, seen the photos & watched the news reports. Well done to all that survived! Seriously well done & you should have a little more assistance in 2003.
The Crew party - oh dear - what a mess! Hope everyone had a great night! James finally sent over some photos which are now up in the past events section - although I must say not up to our usual photographic standard - far too respectable! Next year remind me not to joke with Dick about jelly & ice cream - how hard was that to eat!
The Reading photos have also just been updated with another 70 or so that found their way to me - keep your eyes peeled for the bubble shots!
I'm sure there are a million things I've forgotten but I really should go & do some Christmas shopping - at least before Boxing Day. Please do pop in to the forum & say hello!
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
