The applications are open and train prices are generally horrendous, so: LIFTSHARING!
This thread is self-explanatory and a great way to be green and make friends.

This is the official DCSS Liftshare Thread
What is liftsharing?
Liftsharing is a way of sharing lifts in order to cut down on travel costs and reducing our impact on the environment, you can use this thread or the following links to find other people offering or in need of a lift to the same destination as you at the same time.
What are the benefits?
* No need to use public transport * Make new friends * Reduce travel costs * Travel with someone who may be familiar with the area/route/festival. * Turn a boring journey into a fun one! * Reduce impact on the enviroment
How can I share a lift?
It's really easy all you need to post is: * The festival you are travelling to * The start and return dates for your journey (Note: litter staff return later than traffic) * The location you are at or the route you are planning to travel
EG: "I need a lift to Glastonbury on the 22/06 till 28/06, is anyone passing through Reading?"
OR
EG: "Hi there, I am driving to Glastonbury on the 22/06 returning on 28/06, I will be driving from Reading through to Bristol and then to Shepton Mallet. Anyone need a lift?"
Please note when contacting people it is preferred you contact them via their profile or replying to this thread rather than posting your email address.
To contact a user via their profile simply click their username and on their profile click "Click to send an Email" then type your message. Doing so will send an email to the user and show YOUR email address for them to reply at.
Haven't had any luck in the thread?
If you haven't had any luck in this thread try the following sites dedicated to liftsharing:
* www.liftshare.org * www.freewheelers.co.uk
Also for those who need a lift to big chill, latitude, leeds and reading festival try the Hotbox Events Liftshare thread over at the www.hotboxevents.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=915" target="_blank">Hotbox Forums.
I hope you dont mind me stealing your thread katy, I was in the middle of creating it when you got there before me . |

| Hi, I've applied to Glasto - still waiting on confirmation, but looking into coach/train there and it's looking pricey! I'm coming from either Nottingham or Leeds so if anyone could offer me a lift or passing through either of them I'd be very thankful... |

| Assuming I'm accepted to work this year, I've got a space in my car to the Bournemouth Sevens event from Edenbridge, Kent. Not sure about lift back yet cos I might also apply for the Summer Ball. |

| I'm Heading down to glasto (and hopefully a few others) from Selby (York/ Leeds) So if anyone is needing a lift i'm happy to do so for a bit of company and some sort of contribution towards petrol, i could probably comfortably take two passengers plus luggage as my car isnt the biggest. |
